DWeb Virtual Meetup—Latest in the DWeb Ecosystem (October 2026)

Join us at our next virtual meetup featuring speakers working on some of the latest DWeb technologies!

The DWeb community is big, diverse, and full of brilliant people building, experimenting, researching, questioning, and imagining what a better web could look like. So, what’s new?

For our next virtual meetup, we're going to hear from the people in the ecosystem: what they’ve been working on, what they’re thinking about, what they’re chewing on.

This meetup is an opportunity to get a glimpse into what’s happening across the DWeb ecosystem and to connect with the people making it happen. Come for the latest updates, come curious and with questions. You never know what you might discover, or who you might meet!

Here are this month's speakers:

  • Ira Nezhynska, DWeb’s Creative Director, will speed-guide us through her framework for reverse-engineering project reputation, a core concept behind her Brand Lab workshop. Brand Lab is a 2-day in-person workshop for technical founders who are launching a difficult-to-explain product to market and want to attract first users and early funders. It will take place in a new 4x-bigger format in November in San Francisco, right before Vision Weekend.

  • Guo Liu, moss: local first website publication. Guo is a technologist, founder, musician, and ecologist. He returned to DWeb Camp in 2026 to help run the D:Food/Web track and improvised music in the forest. Guo presented moss, a desktop application that publishes a website from a folder, making indie sites a pleasant breeze for everyone.

  • Dario Presutti’s work focuses on fostering the use of Free Software in public administration and promoting transparent, accountable digital infrastructures in Europe. Dario will share FSFE’s Device Neutrality policy concept - everyone has the right to remove and install any software on any of their devices- whose principles have been incorporated in the Digital Markets Act (DMA, the European Union's largest initiative to regulate gatekeepers in digital markets). He’ll also briefly touch upon a court case involving Apple and the European Commission.

  • Wesley Finch, Semble: Wesley is a long time DWebber who built Semble, an open social network for collaboratively curating content that matters. That means content will be easy to find and organised and curated by humans in a participatory space.

This virtual meetup will be hosted by our new Social Media and Community Manager, Marta Andreoli.
