About the D:food/web Food Fellows Program
For this year’s DWeb Camp (Theme: Root Systems), we are seeking builders and organizers to help us bridge decentralized web and tech sovereignty work with global food sovereignty movements as part of our D:food/web Track. We are gathering from July 8-12, 2026, at Alte Hölle in Brandenburg, Germany to explore innovative technologies and strategies that empower smallholder farmers, workers, and agricultural coops around the world. (Some of you may want to come early and join us for the Camp Build, July 1-7! We recommend you come a few days early to adjust to the new timezone and get acclimated.)
The Food Fellows Program is intended for those who want to help organize, and lead in-person sessions at the camp. We are looking for a range of participants working at the intersection of food and tech sovereignty. For example, you might be working on open agroecological technologies, leading bioregional innovation efforts, coordinating farmer networks around local resource management, exploring democratic models for decision making, or building cooperative structures for data ownership. If so, we want to hear from you.
Participation options
We are offering three modes of participation for this year's program:
-
Rhizome: A fully funded scholarship for applicants making a significant contribution to the D:food/web program (e.g., presenting, facilitating).
-
Seed: A needs-based partial scholarship (travel and ticket support) for applicants who will also contribute to the track.
-
Super Link Volunteer: Participants who commit to 24 hours of volunteer service at DWeb Camp (e.g., dishwashing, building wifi networks, distributing power) will receive a discounted ticket and meal plan. Volunteer tier applicants do not need to propose a contribution to the D:food/web track.
💡 Deadline: April 26, 2026, end of day wherever you are.
